Meter Resets Meter resets are required on any property which has been without electrical power for six months or more. If a meter reset is required, a City of Wichita Electrical Inspector will have to inspect the property and find it to be in a safe condition before sending the release to Westar Energy. If the City Inspector finds that the property's electrical system is unsafe, a City Licensed Electrical Contractor is required to make the repairs/corrections and call for re-inspection to get the power turned on.  Please DO NOT do any of the electrical work yourself. Eastside Electric only calls for inspection of work performed by EASTSIDE ELECTRIC!  No Exceptions.
